It is much easier to get cheap spectacles than many people think it could possibly be.  Because the people who test our eyes are doctors, many people are intimidated by what they do and often don’t ask a lot of questions or take their care into their own hands.  That is an increasing problem in all medical fields and can cost you a lot of money down the line.  It is important for you to know that you are the person in charge of your care, whether it is medical or any other type of care.  You must make the decisions with the advice of your physician because you are the person who has to pay the cost and live with the consequences of your decision.

Once your prescription is written and your visit is paid for, you have the right to request a copy of your prescription for eye glasses or spectacles.  They cannot refuse to give it to you anymore than a physician can refuse to give you test results.  You are in no way required to let your eye doctor’s office fill that prescription.  Once you have the prescription in your possession, you can have it filled by any company or office that handles eye glasses and spectacles.  By taking your prescription to a reputable and honest company, you can ensure that you get the cheap spectacles that you desire.
